Fed ends QE?

December 12, 2013

What does it all mean? You have heard me say the Fed is looking at the technical data for when to end their Quantitative Easing. So with the Initial Jobless Claims report that just came out – revised up big, to 368,000 that should have the Fed delaying their timeline to when they stop buying – or will it?

I say this as Bonds have not fared well since this report landed this morning and that makes me believe we are preparing for the Fed to say on December 18th release that even with technicals not at desired levels, they will adjust to a lower QE buying beginning before March.

Just a hunch, stay tuned!

Twitter Bird Megaphone

Here’s what you may have missed on Twitter this week:

If you’re not following Frisco Economic Development Corporation on Twitter, you should be! They’ll keep you informed about everything Frisco has to offer, including award-winning hotels, shopping, concerts and events, and 4 professional sports teams.

Who made it out to watch the Frisco RoughRiders baseball game last Friday? Did you stay for fireworks?

Premier Grilling had a huge Labor Day Sale at both their Plano and Frisco locations. Did you stop by?

Thanks Frisco News for keeping us informed about holiday closures.  Did you know ahead of time that the Frisco Library would be closed and sanitation services would be delayed, or did you find out the hard way?

Ah, Labor Day! We all look forward to a long weekend, but do you know what it’s all about? The U.S. Department of Labor explains here.

Have you heard of ProjectWarm.us? Every year they set a (very agressive) number of coats and blankets to collect for local homeless in a very short amount of time.

Mmmmm Pizzeria Testa! My family of six loves their food and their service, and what an incredible location in Frisco Square! If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend you stop by.

If you stop by my website, you’ll notice some visible changes. What you won’t see is the hard work FriscoWebsites has been doing under the hood! Thanks Bill and Kim!

Did you know that the Celina Balloon Festival is next weekend? Follow them on Twitter for updates!

The new school year started for Frisco ISD on the August 26th. Hope all the teachers, administrators and students had a great first week!

Did you make it to the Brazos Power Line meeting in at the Frisco Heritage Center? If you haven’t been keeping up with the issue, read this article, and this letter from Brazos Electric with a map of propose routes.  The real action begins down the road, so stay involved!

Am I the only one who’s seeing C4 Roofing signs on a lot of projects around town? Looks like they’re staying busy!

With so much going on in our great city, it’s great to have VisitFrisco.com keeping up with activities and events. Local friends, it’s time to play tourist in your hometown!

What Windows 8 tips can you offer?

April 22, 2013

I am the proud owner of a new Microsoft Surface Pro tablet.  The goal was to have a smaller computer that could work a few more programs than the iPad let you.  So far I have to say, strange set up – maybe I am not the target audience.

So, do you own one or use Windows 8 and have tips for me?  I just want to use Outlook, Word and a few  FriscoMortgageGuy.com programs that I will be working to install.

FMG on the Move!

November 18, 2012

I just wanted to share my news with you…I am changing banks! I have been with Bank of the Ozarks since August of 2011. It was my first “mid-sized” bank, with over 27 loan officers in the company. On my last day, I was their #1 loan officer, closing over 116 loans with almost $30,000,000 in loan volume. It’s been a great experience that I’ll never regret and will miss the local bank branch folks around the metroplex who are tops!

I decided to move my business to First United Bank, to have an opportunity to work for someone I’ve known and respected for a long time, Kelly Decker. Their Corporate offices are in Oklahoma with a large contingent of mortgage employees sitting in McKinney, TX. With my business coming on board, they have agreed to open a Frisco office. How could the Frisco Mortgage Guy work in McKinney? I am thrilled to help bring more business to the Frisco market!

One thing I want to be sure you know, is that I would never make a move like this if I didn’t think it was in the best interest of both my customers and my family. As a large regional bank, they have chosen to service their mortgage loans, rather than selling them off to someone else once you close. As a few past clients can attest, sometimes “selling” the loan results in issues they would rather not face next time. I also like that by owning the loan long-term, they have consistent underwriting standards that can help reduce the time it takes to get a loan closed.

Ultimately if I take care of you, offering great rates and a good experience, our relationship becomes a life-long one. As I deliver the rates and experience my customers want, I am ultimately taking care of my family. They also offer a premium healthcare package that’s tough to walk away from with four children ages 3-8. Frankly, it’s huge benefit for a family like ours.

My hope is this move is easy and painless for all involved. Please make sure to update my e-mail address as I can no longer receive email at my previous Bank of the Ozarks address.
