Social Insights: 2014 3 Stacks Paddy Dash

March 27, 2014
2014 3 Stacks Paddy Dash
Over the past several months, I’ve had the privilege of working with Geoffrey and the Frisco Sunrise Rotary Club to promote the 3 Stacks Paddy Dash 5K and Fun Run on social media channels. In my work, I see again and again that social media simply illuminates whatever an organization is doing and enables visibility to a wider audience. It is such a pleasure to work with a group that is who they claim to be through and through, and who delivers so completely on their promises. I have been extremely impressed on all counts.

While the purpose of the Paddy Dash is to raise money for local charities, they have to remain mindful of the needs of sponsors and participants in order to do so. My family and I participated in the 5K, and we were blown away! I highly recommend attending even if you’re not interested in running. The music was amazing – huge props to Philipalooza – and the atmosphere was entertaining for all ages. With great food, beer, bounce houses, face painting, sponsor booths, and the silent auction there was plenty to do for everyone. Close parking was plentiful too.

For the runners, the race was a blast. It was well organized, safe, with an easy to follow route and room to run for all paces. Strollers, dogs, athletes, and weekend warriors all co-existed happily. Kudos to Geoffrey and the Frisco Sunrise Rotary Club for putting on an amazing event! I’m looking forward to next year, and hope to see you all there.

Any friend of Geoffrey’s is a friend of mine! If you have questions about this or any social media issue, please tell me about it! I’d love to hear from you. You can also read more on my blog.

Flag Day

June 14, 2013

flag day pledge of allegiance

If you’re not already participating in the Frisco Sunrise Rotary Flag Program, it’s not too late to sign up for the rest of the year!

Our goal is to create a community of red, white, and blue and honor our country with a parade of flags on the following seven days:

President’s Day – Memorial Day – Flag Day – Independence Day – Labor Day –  9/11 – Veterans Day

To commemorate each of these dates, a quality 3′ x 5′ American flag on a 10′ pole will be installed on a non-permanent stand in front of your home or business.

Your political campaign tips!

Tips for your Campaign trail – if running for any office, please don’t come to a Rotary meeting and place cards on each seat or stand at exit and pass them out. I find that very tacky!

2013 Paddy Dash was a great success!

March 21, 2013

The 2013 Paddy Dash, promoted by your Frisco Sunrise Rotary Club is one for the books! Held last Saturday at Frisco’s FC Dallas field, it had a great turn out and good times were had by all. This was the second year of the BBQ competition, hosted by Premier Grilling of Frisco. We are proud to say that one of our members, Bryan Brickman, came in second place with his blue corn chip pulled pork recipe. It makes me hungry just thinking about it!

Thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers and participants for making this a great event!

Are you looking for another great Frisco Rotary event? How about a night at the Frisco Ball Park? Information is coming soon on this fun family event.
