North Texas Cares: Providing Quality Healthcare for Those in Need

NTX Cares LogoSince 2005, the North Texas Cares Clinic (formerly Frisco Cares) has been providing the highest quality, most cost-efficient health and wellness care to the underserved in the North Texas community.

NTX Cares allows individuals without insurance to have access to acute and preventive care, immunizations, lab tests and imaging services at affordable rates. Most importantly, NTX Cares provides peace of mind to those in need by being a medical resource in a time of need. NTX Cares is operated by a nearly all volunteer staff. Medical personnel consists of including two pediatricians, a family practice doctor, two physician assistants, five nurse practitioners, and over 40 volunteer nurses. NTX Cares also has over 75 non-medical volunteers who serve in clerical, translation, and data entry positions. An Operations Director oversees clinic operations.

The clinic operated previously out of a two exam room facility near downtown Frisco. NTX Cares is opening a new facility located on McKinney Road, in Frisco, in order to be able to meet the growing need for health care services. This new space will feature seven exam rooms as well as a women’s clinic for well woman checkups.

While most patients are Denton and Collin County residents, last year NTX Cares treated approximately 400 adults and children from throughout North Texas Community. Patients were treated for illnesses ranging from the common cold to the flu, strep throat to high blood pressure. NTX Cares has also diagnosed patients in early stages of critical illness, such as breast cancer and diabetes. Through its community partners throughout North Texas, patients have access to specialists, necessary imaging, and lab work.

Currently, NTX Cares is open on Wednesdays for children and Thursdays for adults. Registration for both days begins at 5:00 p.m., with patients being seen at 6:00 p.m. Patients are seen on a first come, first serve basis. Proof of residency is required.
