Frisco, TX (January 24, 2011) – The Superdrome Management Group and USA Cycling are pleased to announce that Richardson Bike Mart will be the title sponsor for the 2011 USA Cycling Junior Track National Championships to be held at the Superdrome Velodrome in Frisco, Texas, July 7-10.
This marks the first year of having the Junior event at the Superdrome since its construction in 1998. The Superdrome hosted the 2010 USA Cycling Masters Track National Championships last September.
“Richardson Bike Mart has been a great supporter of the USA Cycling National Championships in Frisco over the past two years,” said USA Cycling National Events Manager Tony Leko. “We welcome them back as a sponsor of the 2011 Richardson Bike Mart USA Cycling Juniors Track National Championships at the Superdrome and with their help the event should be better than ever.”
Richardson Bike Mart has held an important role in the cycling community for over thirty years, including tremendous support of the Superdrome. RBM has continued to be a key player in assisting area youth in the sport of cycling, and has subsequently formed and sponsors the Matrix Junior Development team lead by several of Texas top Masters-level racers. “Learning the basics and technical skills safely and early on is a wonderful thing for building confidence and interest in the sport, as well as preparing future racers,” said Jim Hoyt, owner of RBM. RBM also opened its newest location in Frisco only 2 miles from the track and local employees donate time and mechanical support for the Youth Development Program sponsored by the Superdrome.
“RBM is proud to support and be a part of the Junior Track National Championships and we’re glad USA Cycling chose the Superdrome for the 2011 site,” said Hoyt. “It’s great to see the excitement and commitment towards the sport of cycling in all these young athletes and their families. We wish all the participants success and look forward to a wonderful event.”
SMG President Tim Goodwin said he greatly appreciates the generosity of RBM which has helped sustain and maintain the Superdrome and the programs it provides for the entire cycling community.
