NCAA Bracket

NCAA Bracket time.  Great to see Kansas in a #1 spot, will they make it to the end?  As a long time fan it scares me to see all the “experts” saying how great this team is and thinks they could win it all.  How great would that be?  Do you participate in any bracket pools?  If so- what ones.  Here is to your team coning up 1 place short and KU going all the way……

My Final Four Bracket Pick

I have one team left in my bracket and we find out tonight whether or not my lone survivor can make it happen.  Right now, I have North Carolina wining it all and that was no fun to pick.  You see, they have a coach named Roy Williams who left my Kansas Jayhawks for that job-and yes, I’m still a tad bitter. Even though Kansas was fortunate to land Illinois‘ Bill Self, and demonstrated they were winners by clenching last year’s National Championship, How did your bracket do?

Shoulda Coulda Woulda

That is a term I use a lot, do you?  So easy to look backwards and second guess our decisions but this one is huge.  I never sent in my NCAA Tournament Bracket and I am on fire!  Only off a few so far.  I thought California would beat Maryland; thought Texas would beat Duke, thought Florida would have moved on and that Clemson would beat Michigan.  But I did pick Arizona, Missouri and the rest as they are now.  How are your Brackets going?

Players Wanted!

The Hoops in the Square, 3 on 3 basketball tournament, is scheduled for September 20. Promoted by my Frisco Sunrise Rotary Club, this event now has new sponsors!  Baylor Medical Center of Frisco has agreed to be our Title Sponsor!  This is good news to many of us who bodies have a tough time keeping up with our spirits. No telling how many will need that medical assistance. It’s good to know it’s just a tent away!  Lochrann’s Irish Pub will be on hand for a pre-party the Friday night before the tournament and on game day with refreshments.  And my favorite announcement of them all- Primrose of Frisco will be there as well to help with a children’s area that I bet even adults will want to come play in.

KU Flag Is Safe!!

If you remember, Julie graduated from the University of Texas and I hail my alliance to the University of Kansas.  At our house, the school ranked highest at that time in the Big 12 gets to fly that school’s flag out front.  Kansas won the 2008 National Basketball Championships!!!  She even said I could buy championship gear for the boys to wear…what a good sport!  

And Then There Were 2!

Kansas is on a roll- did you watch the game?  KU took apart North Carolina (NC) in the 1st half!  Unbelievable- for those of you who are not up to speed- NC’s coach was the KU coach for 15 years and left in 2003 for NC.  Needless to say- this win was all the more special!  Hope you cheer for my Hawks tonight as they go against Memphis!  Rock Chalk Jayhawks- GO KU!

And Then There Was 1!

Kansas and the other 3 #1 seeds are on their way to the Final 4!  I did feel bad for a bit when Texas got knocked out by Memphis- but just for a minute.  As with all KU games- it was a nail biter and came down to the final seconds of the game.   Rock Chalk Jayhawks- GO KU!

I Keep My Flag!

NCAA tournament is going strong and though the Big 12 lost a few teams- Kansas and Texas are on to the Sweet 16.  How did your bracket do?   Rock Chalk Jayhawks- KU!
