Welcome to another installment from the Frisco Mortgage Guy Approved Providers, FMG-AP. A group of folks, be it local or area related in the Metroplex that perform outstanding service and I’ll use again and again, and again. I hope someday you might be able to use the services of these folks as well.
Bullitt has my Back! Years ago when we moved to Frisco I went looking for a good chiropractor. From all the abuse I put my body through with bicycle racing it is a must to have regular maintenance with a good doctor. What I found was not only a good doc- but a good friend. From my 1st appointment with Dr. Brian Bullitt, owner and operator of Bullitt Chiropractic, I knew he was the right fit. Not a person who just breezes in adjusts and sends me on my way. There was stretching conversation and careful adjustments and I have been a patient ever since. Who has your back?
Who’s Money is it anyway? I don’t have many questions when it comes to investing money for retirement- how can I, we have four kids…can I just have them be my retirement plan? What I want out of a financial advisor is honesty and knowing my money is working as hard as it can be. I found all of that in John Gay, owner of Frisco Financial Planning. There are many advisors that I like to refer, as not all clients are right for all advisors but John has a simple plan, it is not your money anyway- it’s God’s. So when he started his company, as you can see from his site he gives credit back to where it belongs.

Recently, we made a global change at the Davis household and began composting. We went online to a company called CleanAirGardening.com, which is owned by a friend. With his advice and his online tutorial, we selected a compost bin as well as a counter-top canister for all of our table scraps.
The boys are elated. They cannot believe all the fun it is to take things from their plate that are on the approved list and place them into the silver canister. The other day my five-year-old asked me to put the canister lower so that they could reach it without my help. My answer? Not on your life! Supervision is definitely required with a 5 and 3 year old!
We have many rabbits (and possibly other varmints) in our area in Frisco, so we’re taking care that we don’t save the food scraps that would attract varmints to our bin. The bin we purchased does have rodent screens which are a big plus.
How are you saving the world?
Here in Frisco we have a great system through Community Waste Disposal with large blue recycling trash cans. When I first moved to Frisco, we had small, green buckets that were kept in the garage and then set out on trash day, but they’ve been replaced with these large blue recycling bins. They can take almost everything. Anything they don’t take you save in your garage and take down to the City of Frisco on ‘Chunk Your Junk’ days. There is an approved list of items that they will accept; those things that are unacceptable can be taken to the dump.
We have been recycling so well that we asked for a second blue canister. I would encourage you to look at the top of your recycling container if you live here in Frisco. Familiarize yourself with all the different items to make it easier on our life. We are teaching the children in our house to put any items that are recyclable in a ‘recycling spot’ on the bar. They will then be put outside in the container. We keep a plastic bin in the garage for easy collection of recyclables so that we don’t always have to be walking outside to the larger container.
I hope you’re doing things in your world that are helping to reuse, recycle, I guess that’s like the song goes in the Curious George movie. Reduce, reuse, recycle. Thanks for reading.

Recently I had some outpatient surgery done and let’s just say that the healing process was not as uneventful as it should have been. But, as with most situations like this, there is always an upside and what I experienced next was amazing. I was able to witness Julie’s amazing ability to manage work and 4 children under 5 years of age mostly by herself. I was able to witness friends and family and the care and support they offered to both of us. And while my comfort level in hospitals is exceedingly low, I was pleasantly surprised by Baylor Frisco Hospital. They provided excellent care and, most important, kept me from escaping too early.
This event is also a nice tie in to an article I wrote a bit ago and had not yet had a chance to put in the Weekly (see below).
So here is to family, friends and health this holiday season. I for one am looking forward to the break and being surrounded by my large family as we celebrate the birth of Christ. It is especially joyful for all us to share Darcy and Libby’s very first Christmas.
Be safe, have a wonderful holiday and when in question, always put others 1st!

When we moved to Frisco I began attending the Frisco Chamber of Commerce networking meetings in order to establish myself as a businessman in our new community and also to meet other business people. Now that I am established in my own business I continue to attend the meetings to meet the new business people coming into the Frisco area. Frisco is like the old Gold Rush towns with new people arriving almost daily and I want to become acquainted with as many as possible.
One of the people with whom I became acquainted when we first arrived in 2002 is my Chiropractor, Dr. Brian Bullitt. He has become a good friend and is also one of the main sponsors of the Frisco Cycling Club. It is great to have him involved. I was also fortunate enough to meet Dr. Pedro Checo who has become my primary doctor. He has a great sense of humor, a great office staff who ensure that his schedule runs on time and is very direct which I appreciate. Dr. Chekko and I have a true bond in our love of Free State Brewery in Lawrence, Kansas. We have a mutual friend who has taken him to Lawrence and introduced him to Free State and we both have a great appreciation of their products!
Through Dr. Checo I was introduced to Dr. Gupta when I was in the market for lasik eye surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Gupta as a caring and responsive doctor. He charges no more than any of the other doctors who perform this surgery and was always available to me both before and after my surgery. I would highly recommend him.
Recently Julie insisted that I go to a dermatologist to have some spots examined so I made an appointment with Dr. Michael McGuiness. From the beginning his staff was very pleasant and organized. Although I have been to a dermatologist before, I had never been to one where they did a full-body scan. It was very cool. Since I have spent a great deal of time in the sun while bicycling Dr. McGuiness talked with me about preventative measures I needed to take on a regular basis. I was genuinely impressed with his demeanor and his approach. So, if for any reason you have a need for a dermatologist, I would highly recommend Dr. McGuiness.

That is an easy one for me: my wife, my priests, my parents, God and Dr. Checo. They are in no specific order so nobody gets their feelings hurt if they are not listed 1st. A few years ago I asked Dr. Checo for a referral for an Ophthalmologist to see if Julie or I could be a candidate for Lasik surgery. He sent us to Dr. Gupta, a local Frisco doctor. Dr. Gupta is amazing and definitely makes it on my trust list. Last Thursday I had the surgery done and could not be happier. Julie decided to use me as a test dummy and will get hers next year she says. I have had thick glasses almost my whole life and am so excited! I can’t wait to head out on the bike this Saturday. And the goggles they give you are way cool! I feel like Anakin Skywalker when he was pod racing!
