Players Wanted!

June 23, 2008

The Hoops in the Square, 3 on 3 basketball tournament, is scheduled for September 20. Promoted by my Frisco Sunrise Rotary Club, this event now has new sponsors!  Baylor Medical Center of Frisco has agreed to be our Title Sponsor!  This is good news to many of us who bodies have a tough time keeping up with our spirits. No telling how many will need that medical assistance. It’s good to know it’s just a tent away!  Lochrann’s Irish Pub will be on hand for a pre-party the Friday night before the tournament and on game day with refreshments.  And my favorite announcement of them all- Primrose of Frisco will be there as well to help with a children’s area that I bet even adults will want to come play in.

Tournament is 90 days away, so get training now and visit the Hoops site above for more details.

Events To Sponsor Again!

June 23, 2008

I had the privilege of attending an event our Frisco Cycling Club sponsored- Frisco Online Safety Fair.  This event was well attended, well run and can’t wait for it to roll around next year.  Our club, at the encouragement of the promoters, created a certificate that kids got if they promised to wear their helmet- huge hit!

Next- my company sponsored the Lochrann’s Golf Tournament held last week.  All the beer aside, this event was a fund raiser for the FriscoCares Clinic and I was proud to be a part of that.  FriscoCares came via a Leadership Frisco class project a few years back and has grown every year.  Maybe you can join me at both events next year-

Too Worn Out to Write:

June 16, 2008

I have to say, between my Father’s Day Activities, working the Frisco Cycling Club booth at the 3rd Frisco Online Safety fair and my efforts to support Tim Nelson (nope, we did not win)….I am worn out!! Your mortgage guy is going to take the week off from writing.

The Weekly will be back next week after some recovery. I hope all is well with you; please feel free to give me a call if you have any questions about this week’s rate changes.

My Choice for Frisco City Council- Tim Nelson

May 20, 2008

Stay Committed to Tim Nelson

May 20, 2008

With our City having a run off election next Month- that means three more weeks of signs.  My candidate in this election is Tim Nelson and I just happen to have a few of those signs with me ready to place in your yard (Seth and I put up 20 this weekend!).  If you have not yet meet Tim and would like to there are 2 opportunities.  1.The Frisco Chamber of Commerce will host a forum for each candidate to field questions from you- held on Thursday, May 29th at 6:00pm at the Chamber (6843 Main St).  2. Let me know when you are free and I will arrange a meeting for you.

In the general election- over 7,000 residents voted but in Place 5 for this Council spot, only a little over 5,000 did.  Tim was the last candidate to file for the office and had limited time to campaign.  What that tells me is folks did not know enough about the 4 candidates in Place 5 and opted not to vote.  If Frisco run-off history teaches us correctly- at most, 2,500 of us will come back out to vote for this run-off- Every Vote Will Count!  Read more about Tim or come meet him and find out why all my research tells me this is the guy to be on Council!

Heck- the guy got a Bronze Star in 2004 during his Tour in Iraq- that makes him capable in my book to handle this City!
