Bowl for Kids’ Sake benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters

March 22, 2010

Here is a note from a few of my fellow Rotarians who are bowling for kids and would love your support!  I am participating in this year’s “Bowl For Kids’ Sake” benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters. Along with my fellow Rotarians, our goal is to raise $100 per team member to support this worthy cause.  The event is tomorrow, March 20th, 2010 and the proceeds go to help move kids off the waiting list for a Big Brother or Big Sister. I ask you to please consider supporting our efforts! Every dollar help – Please click this link to donate to one of our teams:  Jennifer Kimble or Erin Meltabarger
Big Brothers Big Sisters is the nation’s preeminent youth-service organization. With a century of experience in matching volunteer Bigs with children, Big Brothers Big Sisters has the model and method for making these relationships strong, fun, and happy. Our service is based on our volunteers. Big Brothers and Big Sisters are, most importantly, friends to children. They share everyday activities, expand horizons, and help their Littles to experience the joy in even the simplest events. Within these little moments lies the big magic of the relationship between a Big Brother or Big Sister and their Little.

2nd ANNUAL HOOPS IN THE SQUARE

July 6, 2009
Frisco Sunrise Rotary Club will host the 2nd annual Hoops in the Square 3 on 3 basketball tournament on Saturday, September 26 in Frisco Square.

Last year’s successful tournament involved more than 250 competitors in twelve different divisions, aligned by skill level, age, and gender.  Friends and family came to support their favorite player, and others brought their children to play in the Kid’s Zone. We anticipate even higher numbers this year.
There is a ‘family festival’ atmosphere to this event and something for everyone!

All net proceeds from the event are earmarked for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. There are currently 275 children in Collin County waiting to be assigned a big brother or sister. The mentoring that the children receive from their ‘big brothers or sisters’ is a priceless gift. There is, however, a cost for those mentors to be recruited, trained and ultimately assigned to a child. Sponsors for the Hoops in the Square will enable the organization to continue to provide their unique service to children of our community.

Sponsorships are the backbone of the event.

Players compete on “half-courts” outdoors in an urban setting – on concrete with the backdrop of Frisco Square shops and buildings.  Each court may be ‘purchased’ for a minimum sponsorship of $500. Sponsors who purchase courts have free-reign to promote their business on and around their court – signs, banners and any other kind of promotional materials desired. Your business brochures will also be included in the Player Packs – which are included with each competitor’s entry fee.   Sponsors of the event will be included in advertising pieces that will be distributed throughout our city. The Frisco Sunrise Rotary Club has established a foundation to ensure that your donations will be eligible for a non-profit tax advantage.  (Please seek professional tax advice as to how this applies to you or your business.)

We hope you will consider sponsoring Hoops in the Square this year and guarantee that your sponsorship will impact the lives of many children in our city.
