Kids Learning Old School

While I was at Target the other day I saw a School House Rocks DVD.  Remember those short educational cartoons on during the 70s that featured things like history and grammar (“Conjunction, Conjunction what’s your function”)?  Well Luke just loves them–and heck, I am learning a few things too.  A second “Old School” item that has hit my radar is the Christian series called SuperBook (i.e., Bible).  A friend came and spoke to our Rotary group from the Christian Broadcast Network, and he brought some of these cartoons with him to share with the group.  I had never heard of it before, but it was probably because yours truly was spending more time teasing his sisters than watching Christian television. There is a new, updated version soon to be released.

It was awesome to read so many fun responses after I sent out last week’s email announcing the future arrival of our twin girls due in late July/early August. Here are some of my favorites:

• Congratulations to you and Julie!  Just my .02 — girls are WAY easier than boys!! 
• I will definitely remember you all in my prayers.  As for sending money, well, you should probably call my husband for that.

Tankard Fellowship

Tankard Fellowship is a Monthly men’s event held on the 2nd Tuesday with an 8:30pm start time at Lochrann’s Irish Pub.  The idea is simple, Christian men connecting over a pint.  It started in June, 2008.
